Ozone Depleting Substances (ODS) and Synthetic Greenhouse Gasses (SGG) Competency Development Project
Construction and Property Services Industry Skills Council is working with Fire Protection Association Australia on a Commonwealth Department of the Environment, Water, Heritage and the Arts funded project to develop learning and assessment resources to support the new and redeveloped units of competency that cover ozone depleting substances (ODS) and synthetic greenhouse gases (SGG) used in the fire protection industry. The competencies will be grouped to provide the basis of training to comply with the federal government legislation relating to ODS and SGG as used in the fire protection industry. The project builds on the findings of the 2004 scoping report identifying work outcomes in the following areas:
1. Portable Fire Extinguisher Maintenance
2. Fixed System Installation and Decommissioning
3. Fixed System Maintenance
4. Recovery, Reclamation and Recycling
5. Warehouse Maintenance
6. Control Systems Installation
