Nationwide House Energy Rating Scheme (NatHERS) and Residential Building Mandatory Disclosure (RBMD)

The Department of Energy Efficiency and Climate Change (DEECC) contracted Construction and Property Services Industry Training Council (CPSISC) in May 2010 to undertake a scoping project for the development of qualifications for Nationwide House Energy Rating Scheme (NatHERS) and Residential Building Mandatory Disclosure (RBMD) assessors. This is in line with the implementation of government policy initiatives under the National Strategy on Energy Efficiency (NSEE). 

CPSISC has now completed the scoping study and the recommendations are to develop:

a.   A pathway for the transition of NatHERS assessors to a new qualification,

b.  An interim qualification solution enabling assessors to be trained, if necessary, before the completion of the full RBMD qualification.

The CPSISC Property Industry Advisory Committee has now agreed that the development of qualifications will be undertaken. These qualifications will be included in the CPP07 Property Services Training Package.

The project is expected to commence in May 2011.
