Scoping review of CPC30411 Cert III in Demolition
CPC08 Construction, Plumbing and Services Training Package
The Construction and Property Services Industry Skills Council (CPSISC), through its continuous improvement process, is undertaking a scoping review of the CPC30411 Certificate III in Demolition after representations from industry indicating that the qualification needs updating to reflect current industry practices.
Some industry representatives have indicated that the current units of competency in the core of the qualification do not cover the key functions of work in the industry. It has also been suggested that there needs to be a realignment of a number of units between the core and electives within the qualification. We are seeking industry input into the future direction of this qualification.
The scoping report will provide advice on:
- the need from a national perspective to review and restructure the current qualification
- a national focus re updating the qualification to ensure the qualification covers the full scope of work of the demolition job role.
- whether the current core and elective units of competency are relevant or need to be reviewed and restructured
- impact of changes on current regulatory arrangements by jurisdiction
- impact of anticipated changes driven by national licensing
- impact on any existing apprenticeship/traineeship pathways
- support for change to the national qualification from key stakeholders including regulators.
Ms Georgie Cane, Performance Growth has been awarded a contract to conduct this scoping and provide advice to the Construction Industry Advisory Committee (CIAC).
It is expected the report will be delivered by early February 2012.
