The SIS sector strongly supports the use of units of competency as a way to define training needs and drive delivery of vocational education and training for the Property Services Industry. The reviewed SIS units of competency and qualifications within CPP07 Training Package are now more relevant to the SIS industry sectors, particularly with regard to a specific surveying stream.
The SIS sector is a new area in the VET. Low levels ofawareness still exist amongst employers and RTOs about the sector generally, and the qualifications framework specifically. The challenge ahead is to build on the experience of using the SIS qualifications framework to stimulate greater industry and RTO interest.
