There are agreed conventions for the national codes used for Training Packages and their components. The codes and titles relating to the CPP07 Property Services Training Package are explained below for:
Training Package codes
Each Training Package has a unique five-character national code assigned when the Training Package is endorsed, for example CPP07. The first three characters are letters identifying the Training Package industry coverage, and the last two characters are numbers identifying the year of endorsement (see diagram below for clarification).
Qualification codes
Each CPP07 qualification has a unique title and eight-character code, for example CPP30107 Certificate III in Spatial Information Services, or CPP50706 Diploma of Access Consulting:
- The first three letters identify the Training Package
- The first number identifies the qualification level of AQF alignment
- The next two numbers identify the position of the sequence of the qualification at that level within the qualifications framework for the Training Package as a whole
- The last two numbers identify the year in which the qualification was endorsed (note: where qualifications are added after the initial Training Package endorsement, the last two numbers may differ from other Training Package qualifications as they identify the year in which those particular qualifictions were endorsed)
- The title summarises the occupational focus for the qualification.
The diagrams below provide further clarification using AQF 3 and 5 qualifications from the Spatial Information Services, and Access Consulting Sectors.
Unit of competency codes
Each unit of competency within a Training Package has a unique title and code. The unit title should clearly articulate the workplace outcome represented by the unit, ie "select livestock for sale".
Unit codes are assigned when the Training Package is endorsed, or when new units of competency are added to an existing endorsed Training Package. Codes for CPP07 units are made up of 11 characters which are a mixture of uppercase letters and numbers, for example, CPPDSM4075A Select livestock for sale:
- The first three letters signify the Training Package
- Then follows three letters which relate to the industry sector, function or skill area
- Then follows four numbers which are unique to the unit of competency (note: the first number in the code represents the level of the qualification it will be packaged within)
- The last character is always a letter and identifies the unit of competency version. The 'A' in the example above indicates that this is the original unit of competency. An incremented version identifier (eg B, or C) usually means that minor changes have been made which have not altered the outcome.
The diagrams below provide further clarification using units from the Security and Property Development, Sales and Management Sectors which are packaged at both the Certificate II and Certificate IV levels.
CPP07 units of competency are coded according to the following:
TP identifier 3 letter sector identifier Unique 4 digit code Version identifier CPP + ACC = Access Consulting + XXXX + A, B, C CCL = Carpet Cleaning CLO = Cleaning Operations CMN = Common DSM = Property Development, Sales and Management FES = Fire Protection Equipment HAS = Home Sustainability Assessment PMT = Pest Management SEC = Security SIS = Spatial Information Services WMT = Waste Management
