Process for Implementing Training
Successful Training Package implementation relies on the Registered Training Organisation (RTO) working in partnership with the employer and learner to translate Training Package components, ie units, qualifications (or skill sets), into meaningful workplace outcomes. Within the VET system, implementation is based on a training and assessment process designed and put into practice by an RTO.
The training and assessment process doesn’t follow one standard procedure. Rather, it encapsulates a flexible delivery approach that can be designed and delivered to best meet the needs of each learner and their employer or enterprise. A key to this process is developing training and assessment strategies that effectively translate the outcomes described within units of competency into effective workplace performance.
CPSISC has developed a process including resources and templates to assist RTOs with implementation based on a five-stage ‘systems approach’. Each step in the process guides the RTO through training and assessment from the early stages involving job analysis and competency profiling, right through to evaluation of training outcomes.
