Plumbing and Services Sector
Plumbers install and maintain pipes, fixtures, metal roofing, boilers, pumps, heating and cooling systems, natural gas appliances, hot water systems … and the list goes on. Such variety provides many plumbing career paths and a lifelong career in the plumbing trade.
The Plumbing and Services Sector of the CPC08 Training Package covers a wide range of occupations. These all within the following streams:
- water
- sanitary
- roof
- plumbing and services
- fire protection
- mechanical services
- gasfitting
- drainage
- irrigation
The Plumbing and Services Sector is subject to significant levels of licensing across Australia. It is the responsibility of individual RTOs to make themselves and their candidates aware of the licensing requirements within their jurisdiction, and the impact of those requirements on the packaging of qualifications.
