Taryn’s work involves finding businesses who might be interested in distributing Axeze products in Australia and overseas. She’s always on the lookout for other products which could integrate well with the Axeze electronic product range. In this role, she attends exhibitions, coordinates product marketing and makes joint presentations with other businesses to show how their products could work well with the Axeze range. She is also at the forefront of launching new products. For example, Axeze has developed a brand new facial recognition product and Taryn is on a promotional campaign, looking for partners to adopt it.

Axeze offers a range of integrated solutions for domestic and corporate markets. For example, their keyless entry system which unlatches doors, can also be programmed with other house systems such as lighting and domestic appliances. For corporate clients, Axeze’s network access systems can be used to allow access to specific areas of buildings, and to specific times in attendance system and payroll packages. Axeze product software integrates easily with client software, so clients are able to continue using familiar software.

Because Axeze has such a broad range of products, the most challenging aspect of Taryn’s role is understanding the technology behind each product and being able to explain it to clients and potential partners. But she loves her job, loves being challenged and doesn’t mind pushing herself to learn new products. She’s also interested in keeping up to date with new products coming on the market. She loves attending expos because it’s an opportunity to learn about new solutions, as well as to identify other products that could integrate with theirs.

Taryn has a Diploma of Financial Services and worked her way up in the company. She is a single mother with two kids. After a brief period away from paid work due to ill health, Taryn was able to work two days a week in the engineering area of the business where she was given easy work such as winding coils on antennas. She then moved to the front office to help back fill the receptionist’s position. When a sales position became available she moved into that and from there into the role of Business Development Manager.

Taryn has learned a lot about Axeze products from engineers. She regularly attends short courses and does her own online research to keep up to date with technology. She enjoys working with a broad range of business partners and pushes her engineers to help improve integration between Axeze products and those of their clients.

The electronic security industry has a great future, with biometrics being an exciting new area - especially facial and iris recognition technology. As more people discover the benefits of integrated security solutions for their homes and businesses, these new areas will boost the industry and expand employment opportunities.
