Formal Training for Monitoring Centre Operator
The Certificate II in Security Operations provides the training required by a person seeking work as a monitoring centre operator (MCO). Trained MCOs apply operational knowledge in a security monitoring context, with limited supervision.
To be awarded the Certificate II in Security Operations, you need to complete a total of 11 units of competency (sometimes referred to as subjects). Seven of the units are compulsory and the remaining four are elective units which must be selected according to the qualification packaging rules.
A Registered Training Organisation (TAFE or private provider) could offer a course like one of the two samples listed below. They both cover the skills and knowledge typically required by a monitoring centre operator.
