Formal Training for Control Room Operator
The Certificate III in Security Operations provides the training required by a person seeking work as a control room operator. Trained operators apply a range of well-developed skills when responding to emergency alarm activations.
To be awarded the Certificate III in Security Operations, you need to successfully complete a total of 13 units of competency (sometimes referred to as subjects). Nine of the units are compulsory and the remaining four are elective units which must be selected according to the qualification packaging rules.
A Registered Training Organisation (TAFE or private provider) could offer a course similar to the two samples listed below. Both cover the skills and knowledge typically required by a control room operator.
