Alan Ross – CEO

 

Alan has worked with CPSISC since it was established in 2004. He previously managed the Property Services Industry Training Advisory Board and the Property Services Training Company since 1996. He has a background in Government at senior levels.

Qualifications

  • Arts Degree at ANU and won DA Casey prize for Prehistory and Anthropology.

Interests

Motorcycles, kayaks and Rugby League (real football). 

David Magee - Senior Project Manager / Deputy CEO

 

David is the senior project manager for the Construction and Property Services Industry Skills Council (CPSISC) and its predecessor for 13 years.

Prior to working for CPSISC David worked for the Commonwealth in the broad fields of employment, education and training.  He lives in Queensland and has worked in the Australian states of Queensland and Victoria and on VET initiatives Fiji and the Marshall Islands.  David has lived and worked in Laos and lived in the US.

  • Master in Education and Training specialising in VET.

Emma Goodwin – Executive Assistant to CEO and Office Manager

ACT Apprentice (Trainee) of the Year, 2010  

 
 

 Emma grew up in Braidwood where she completed year 12, and then went on to study Event Management.

Waterskiing, camping and shopping.   

Heidi Carmona - Marketing Manager 

 

Heidi has worked with CPSISC since its formation in 2004. She was originally employed as an Administration Assistant, and then she worked as the Office Manager before focusing solely on Marketing. Prior to that, she worked as an Administration Assistant for Property Services Training Australia (the National ITAB) for 4 years. Heidi has also worked at The Chronicle as an Advertising Consultant for 2 years. Her experience prior to The Chronicle is in customer service.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Arts in Professional Writing, at the University of Canberra majoring in Advertising/Marketing.

Interests

Reading, writing, travel, basketball. 

Nick Proud - Director, Research and Policy

Nick commenced working with the CPSISC team in 2011. He previously has worked as the national Executive Director for Industry Workforce Development and WHS with the Housing Industry Association. Prior roles also include General Manager for the ACT Region of the Australian Hotels Association and as a Senior Policy Adviser.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Commerce (Marketing and Accounting) and Masters of Business Administration.

Interests

Current Affairs/Politics, Cycling, Soccer and Music.

Debra Baxter - Project Manager

 

Deb has had many years working in the vocational education and training sector including: Executive Officer, Business Training Advisory Board (ACT) Inc. Her experience includes assisting organisations implement training packages and the Australian Quality Training Framework both as an industry auditor and as a consultant. Deb has extensive project management experience especially in language, literacy and numeracy.

Joan Whelan - Project Manager

 

Joan has over 20 years experience working in the Vocational Education and Training sector including significant experience and skills in industry consulting and the identification of skill and training needs; extensive experience with and understanding of the national VET system and Industry Advisory Arrangements; experience in working at a national level on the development of Training Packages and learning and assessment support resources; and Project Management experience.

  • Certificate in Assessment of Informal Learning.

Danielle Calcutt - Project Officer  

 

Danielle has over six years administration and office management experience including reception, project administration, fund administration, Board secretariat, event management, and accounting. She previously worked for Construction Training Queensland (CTQ) the State IAB in Queensland.

  • Bachelor of Business (General)
  • Course in General Safety Induction (Construction Industry).

Interests

Reading, Gardening, watching AFL and Cricket.

Melissa Marshall - Finance and Administration Officer 

 

Melissa grew up on the South Coast and completed year 12 HSC in 2009. She is working at CPSISC as a trainee whilst studying Cert III and Cert IV in Business Administration.

 Rudi Schneider - Careers Project Manager 

 

Rudi has operated within the traineeships system since 1990. He was the Chief Executive Officer, Recreation Industry Training Company where he oversaw the Introduction and expansion of the Sport and Recreation traineeships (Sport, Fitness, Community Recreation, Outdoor Recreation, and Racing). He has also worked with the Department of Employment, Education & Training as an Industrial Relations Officer, negotiating award variations for traineeships and industrial arrangements for labour market programs and as the National Traineeship Co-ordinator during the development and introduction of National Training Wage traineeships.

  • BA in Modern Asian Studies (Chinese) (part)
  • Practitioners Certificate in Mediation & Arbitration (awaiting accreditation)
  • I have also undertaken a range of short/intensive courses specific to my work area at a given time.

Viviana Parish - Careers and Marketing Project Support

 

Viviana Grew up in Bungendore and has completed her year 12 certificate in Canberra, She is working with CPSISC as a trainee whilst completing a Certificate IV in Business.

James Latimore – Workforce Development Manager

 

James has built extensive experience and knowledge of the VET system and training delivery over the last decade. He has gained significant skills in industry consultation and the identification of skill and training needs. Before working for CPSISC he managed the Regional Industry Careers Advisor program for the Federal Government as part of the Careers Advice Australia project in the ACT and surrounding regions.  

This program provided quality, relevant industry career information, advice and resources particularly in skills needs areas, for young people, schools, parent groups, youth services providers and community groups; and to businesses, registered training organizations and job network members. 

James has also worked in the Real Estate Industry as an award winning Project & Property Manager and in the Training, Security and Services Industries.

Sharon Witosz - Project Support Officer

 

Sharon previously worked at the Canberra Institute of Technology in administration roles as well as training roles.  Sharon has extensive customer service skills working in retail management and previously in the NSW Public Service. Sharon is currently studying her Certificate III in Business Administration and previously the Certificate II in Business, Certificate III in Retail Management and Certificate II in Retail Operations and hopes to finish the Certificate III by the end of the year so she can begin on the Certificate IV in Business Administration.

Mark Pincott - ISC WELL Broker

 

Mark is the new ISC WELL Broker, responsible for the implementation of the Workplace English Language and Literacy program across the Construction and Property Services sectors.
Mark has managed RTOs in the Community Services area for the past 6 years and he has a background in the banking sector at senior levels.

Interests

Dianne Dayhew - Project Manager for the NSW Construction ITAB (Industry Training Advisory Board) 

 

Dianne has recently returned to Alan’s team after 10 years with the Australian Broadcasting Corporation (ABC) managing in-house Development Programs. She brings CPSISC more than 20 years’ experience in 3 tiers of education (vocational, tertiary and primary), as well as people and business management. She has worked in the VET sector since 1995, primarily in Group Training Management.  

Dianne has provided VET advice to several industry sectors - arts, media and cultural industries, property services, and security. She worked with SOCOG recruiting and preparing Volunteers for the 2000 Olympic Games and provides voluntary community service time in the early childhood sector.  

As Chair for the Arts Training NSW ITAB board for 4 years, Dianne held the position of Director for almost a 10 year period. 

Dianne is now enjoying her new role for the NSW construction industry.

Sue Gibbens - ISC WELL Broker

 

Sue joined CPSISC in November 2011. With a background in educational planning and business development Sue has 14 years experience in vocational education and training having worked for three large public RTOs. In her planning roles Sue coordinated strategic and operational planning and managed scope of registration compliance requirements. In her business development roles Sue worked with industry clients and stakeholders to identify workforce training needs and develop training solutions to meet these needs.

David Henderson - Workforce Development Industry Consultant (Victoria)

David joined CPSISC in November 2011 with over 30 years experience in recruitment and training in a range of industries including Government, Retail, Insurance, Waste Management and Transport and Logistics. His knowledge of the VET system has been developed by senior management roles within a number of both National and State-based Registered Training Organisations (RTOs).

David also brings extensive project management experience – particularly in the areas of workforce recruitment, training and staff development practices.
